Copyright Policy
Cookzdesignz respects creators’ rights and protects the creative work in which we hold rights. This policy explains how you may use our work and how we address suspected copyright infringement.
Protection of our work
Original designs, illustrations, text, photographs, videos and other creative works may be protected by copyright. Where Cookzdesignz holds these rights, we retain them unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Publication on our website, social media or in our portfolio does not grant permission to reuse the displayed work. Rights in displayed client materials or third-party content remain with their respective rights holders.
Using work you commission from us
Your quotation or order confirmation sets out the usage rights granted for the final work. Use within those agreed terms is permitted. Payment or receipt of files does not, by itself, transfer copyright. Any copyright transfer will be recorded in a separate written agreement that meets the applicable legal requirements.
Drafts, rejected proposals and source or working files are made available for use or further editing only where expressly agreed.
Uses requiring permission
Unless already permitted by your agreement or applicable law, you need prior written permission to:
• Copy, publish or distribute protected work.
• Modify it or incorporate it into other work.
• Resell it, license it or offer it as a template.
• Use it outside the agreed purpose.
You may not present work created by Cookzdesignz as your own creation. Crediting us does not replace any required permission.
Client and third-party materials
If you supply images, text, music, logos or other materials, you must hold the rights or permissions needed for the agreed use. Inform us of any restrictions in advance. Third-party materials, including stock images, music and fonts, may be subject to separate licence terms. We cannot transfer rights that we do not hold.
How do we address suspected infringement?
If we suspect infringement, we may preserve evidence, verify our rights and contact the party involved for an explanation. Where use is unauthorised, we may request that it stops, that publications are removed or that appropriate terms for further use are agreed. Where necessary, we may report the content to the relevant platform or take legal action.
Any claim for damages or recovery of costs must have a legal basis. This policy does not impose an automatic penalty.
Reporting suspected infringement
If you believe our work is being used without permission, or that material on our website infringes your copyright, contact us using the contact details on our website. Identify the relevant page or publication, describe the work and explain who holds the rights. Include supporting information where possible. We will assess the report and take appropriate action if it is substantiated.
Statutory exceptions and other agreements
This policy does not restrict uses permitted by law, including valid use under applicable quotation exceptions. Specific written agreements concerning your project take precedence over this general policy to the extent permitted by law.
